We packed the bus at 11:30 am and headed out for a little fun in Albany. We only stopped one at a rest area in western Mass to let people stretch and take care of business. We arrived at Pepsi Arena in time to watch practice. Usually we the teams place us behind the net, but we were near the blue line this time. Albany had a pretty good size crowd for this game.
Albany’s hospitality guys Dave & Fred loaded the luggage compartments of the bus with 3 platters of sandwiches and 4 platters of cookies from Mr. Subb. They food was delicious and the Rats BC folks were very nice and welcoming.
The Albany Booster Club was not the only group that treated us at the game. The Monarchs, behind a great game by Mathieu Chouinard, treated us to a 3-0 shutout win. Following the team on the road is always fun and Mathieu acknowledged when he skated out on the ice after being named the Star of the Game.
After the game, we started our trip home. This time we stopped at a western Mass to enjoy the ton of food that was given to us by the ARRBC. All the extra food was donated to a family in need in Manchester.
We arrived back in Manchester around 11 pm. It was time to hit the sack in our own homes.
